The arrival of Chris and Kate :-)
Wa-hay, Chris and Kate were coming!! Rich and I got a taxi to the airport to meet them, that took ages and when we got there we discovered that their plane had landed much earlier, so we werent' sure wheather they'd come through the arrival gates already. I stayed put by the gates and Rich had a wander around just in case they'd already been through. We waited for ages but eventually I saw Chrissies little smiley face looking around for us, so I made a dash for him and gave them both a big hug, was sooo good to see them! Rich came back from his search and it was smiles and hugs all round!!! We got a taxi to our hotel and Chris and Kate had a bit of a freshen up......then we went out!! We had a bit of a wander around the only part of Bangkok Rich and I were familiar with, namely Khoasan Road and surrounding area, we had a wander round then popped into a bar for a drink or 2. Chris got very drunk very quickly and it was funny!! We didn't realise quite how strong Chang beer is until Chris was drunk on 2 bottles and we checked.....quite strong then!!! After a bit of dinner (and chris took 3 layers off his mouth as he poured a whole dish of chillies onto his meal!!!) we went to a tailors shop that Rich and I had checked out previously for the boys to get themselves measured for suits. You can get pretty much anything made here for next to nothing. After much umming and ahhing over fabrics and styles Chris ordered a suit with 2 pairs of trousers and 3 shirts, and Rich got 2 suits with 4 pairs of trousers and 6 shirts and a winter coat plus a couple of silk ties thrown in for the princely sum of 25,000 baht for the lot (about 350 quid) Bargain. We had a couple of buckets at a bar after that and then headed home in the early hours to pack ready for our early flight the next morning. I said I'd take full responsibility for getting us all up........so at about 5 am, Chris knocked on our door and woke us up.......thank god Katie packed an alarm clock, and we headed to the airport for our flight to Ko Chang. The plane was a little propeller plane and I have to say I was a little scared, but it was only a short flight and we were soon there!
